Today, cloud storage platforms have made it quite easier to sync all your devices together and keep your data in one place. But, what if you want to access your iPhone/iPad from your PC. There are several situations when the users need to remotely access their iPhone from a PC/laptop but don’t know the right methods to do the job.
Unfortunately, neither iPhones nor PC/laptops come with a pre-installed feature that supports remote accessibility. This means if you want to remote control the iPhone from the PC, you’ll have to utilize dedicated software specifically designed for this purpose. In today’s article, we have compiled a list of the three most useful tools you can use to remotely access and control your iPhone from a PC.
Part 1: Remote control iPhone from PC using TeamViewer
TeamViewer Quicksupport is a fully functional remote control solution that comes with a wide variety of features. You can install the software on your PC and access your iPhone without any hassle. The latest version of TeamViewer comes with a dedicated screen-sharing feature that’ll allow you to share your iPhone’s screen with someone else and let them monitor your activities.
However, TeamViewer can only be used for monitoring purposes as you won’t fully control the iPhone through a PC. You can only see what’s happening on the iPhone’s screen. This is a suitable option for people who have encountered a technical fault on their iPhone and need to explain it to a technician or friend.
So, instead of ranting about the fault, you can share your screen with the respective person and let them provide you with a working solution. To use TeamViewer for iOS screen-sharing, you must be running iOS 11 or above on your iDevice. Also, you’ll have to install the latest TeamViewer 13 on the remote device.
Here’s how you can use the “Screen-Sharing” feature of TeamViewer for remote accessibility.
Step 1 – Install TeamViewer Quicksupport on your iPhone/iPad. Launch the app, and it’ll automatically generate a unique ID for your iDevice.
Step 2 – Now, open TeamViewer on your PC and click “Remote Control” in the top-left corner.
Step 3 – Enter the ID that you generated in the first step and click “Connect.”
Step 4 – You’ll have to enable the “Screen Mirroring” feature on your iDevice. To do so, swipe down and select “Screen Mirroring” from the “Control Center.”
That’s it; a chat window will open on both the devices, and you’ll be able to see your iPhone’s screen on the laptop.
Part 2: Remote control iPhone from PC with Veency
Veency is a remote control software that’s primarily designed to control iPhone/iPad from a PC. Unlike TeamViewer, this software supports screen-sharing and allows users to control the entire functions of their iPhone through the PC itself.
This means you can practically do everything on your iPhone, be it locking/unlocking the device, changing icon size, browsing the gallery, or even launching applications without touching the iPhone. The only downside of Veency is that it’ll only work with a jailbroken iPhone.
So, if you’re not comfortable with jailbreaking your iPhone, you’ll have to stick to TeamViewer or look for another solution to remote control the iPhone from the PC. Moreover, Veency establishes a connection between the two devices. You can install any of the VNC clients, such as UltraVNC, Chicken VNC, and Tight VNC, to use Veency. Follow these instructions to control your iPhone from a PC using Veency remotely.
Step 1 – Launch the Cydia Appstore on your Jailbroken iPhone and search for Veency.
Step 2 – Install the app on your iPhone. Keep in mind that the app will automatically start running in the background, and you may not see its icon on the home screen.
Step 3 – With Veency running in the background, go to Settings>Wifi to check your iPhone’s IP address.
Step 4 – Now, enter the IP address in the VNC Client on your PC and click “Connect.”
Step 5 – If the connection is successfully established, you’ll receive a connection request on your iPhone. Accept the request, and your iPhone’s screen will replicate in the VNC Client on your desktop.
Part 3: Remote control iPhone from PC via Apple Handoff
Finally, if you have a non-jailbroken iPhone and only want to connect it to your Macbook, you can also use Apple’s official Handoff feature. It’s a dedicated feature that came along with iOS 8 and helped many users to perform the same task on different iDevices.
However, this feature has several limitations. Unlike Veency, you won’t be able to control the iPhone from your PC fully. With Apple Handoff, you’ll be able to do the following tasks on your PC.
Accept and make calls using the Contact app on your Macbook.
Continue a Safari browsing session on your Macbook that you started on your iPhone.
Send and view messages from your Macbook using iMessages & the traditional SMS app on your Macbook.
Add new notes and sync them with your iCloud account.
Follow these instructions to remote control the iPhone from the PC using Apple Handoff.
Step 1 – First of all, you’ll have to enable “Apple Handoff” on your Macbook. To do so, go to “System Preferences” > “General” > “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.”
Step 2 – Make sure that you’ve signed in with the same iCloud ID on both devices. Now, swipe up from the bottom to bring up “app-switcher” and click the “Handoff” icon. You’ll automatically see an icon at the bottom-right corner of the Macbook.

iPhones work really well with a Mac. However, if you’re using a Windows PC and an iPhone, a lot of that functionality will not be available. What’s more, if for any reason you want to control your iPhone via Windows, there’s no built in way to do that. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. In fact, there are pretty easy ways to get it done. If that’s something you want to do, here’s how to use and control your iPhone from a Windows PC.
How to Use and Control iPhone from Windows
First off, why would you want to control your iPhone from Windows? Well, you can mirror your iPhone screen on a PC. You can receive text messages and notifications on your computer, and a lot more. So it can be quite useful. Regardless of why you want this particular feature, there are multiple ways to get it done.
There are a couple of ways that you can use to control your iPhone from Windows. I’ll be discussing both of these methods here, and you can choose the one you like more. If you want, you can also use the table of contents below to directly head over to a specific part of this article.
1. Use Wormhole to Use and Control iPhone from Windows
- Download Wormhole from its website and install it.
- You will get the option to choose the device type. Select iOS.
- You can then purchase the license, or start a free trial. Choose whichever option you want.
- By default, the app shows you the method to use a wired connection. However, you can use this wireless as well.
- On your iPhone, open the Control Center and tap on ‘Screen Mirroring‘. You will see an option for a device called “Wormhole-desktop-xxxxxxx”. Tap on it.
- You can then proceed as per the instructions on the screen. Make sure you enable Assistive Touch on your iPhone in order to use your PC’s cursor with your iOS device.
- Your iPhone screen will be displayed on your computer and you can use it just like a normal iPhone.
Wormhole also offers a bunch of options on the left. You get options to click a screenshot of your iPhone screen, navigate the phone with the buttons, and a lot more.
It’s a pretty useful app, especially if you want to have an extension of your iPhone available on your PC.
Wormhole is also available for Mac, by the way, so you can get the same functionality, complete with screen mirroring on macOS.
2. Use Dell Mobile Connect
- Install Dell Mobile Connect on your PC (download) and your iPhone (download).
- Your iPhone will display a code when you launch the app. Enter this code on your PC.
- Give the app the required permissions. The company specifies that it doesn’t collect any personal information from your Contacts or Media.
- Once you have completed all the steps shown on your computer, you will be able to see your iPhone notifications in the Dell Mobile Connect app on your PC.
- You can also use the tabs on the left to view messages, make calls, and more.
Dell Mobile Connect also has the option to mirror your screen. However, it’s very hit and miss, and it didn’t seem to be working for me even with both devices on the same WiFi network. There are also some issues with Bluetooth connectivity with the app and the iPhone.
Basically, the only reason this free app is second in this article is because it can cause quite a lot of annoyance when it doesn’t work. However, apart from screen mirroring, which is not very reliable, this app is extremely fast and good at what it needs to do. So you can consider using this as well, if you don’t need screen mirroring, or if you’re not willing to purchase a license for Wormhole.
Easily Use and Control iOS Devices from Windows
There are definitely other apps that offer at least a subset of the features offered by the apps I mentioned here. However, in my experience, these two apps offer the best feature-set and pricing. Plus, they are remarkably fast as well. Especially with screen mirroring on Wormhole.

Step 2: Sing in to iCloud using your Apple ID and password and choose your desired iCloud backup file from the list, then click on “Next” to scan that backup file for the messages you want to read.
Step 3: In the next window, select “Messages & Attachments” and then click “Next”. The program will begin downloading the messages from your iCloud account. Click “Recover” to save the messages to your computer.
Way 4: View iPhone Messages on Computer via iOS App
There are a lot of apps on the App Store that you can use to view iPhone text messages on your computer. One of the easiest to use is SMS Export, allowing you to export iPhone messages to readable formats like CSV or XML. This app is safe and easy to use, however, it is not free and you have to pay to use it. It may also take up a lot of storage space on your iPhone if you use it often.
Go to the App Store on your iPhone, download and install the SMS Export app on to your device.
Open the app and then click on “Export Messages” to select the output folder on your iPhone.
Now, connect the iPhone to the computer and then open the folder to copy the CSV or XML file on to your computer.
Open the file on your computer and you should be able to access and view the iPhone messages with details.
Way 5: Get & View iPhone Messages on Mac with Messages App
If you have a Mac, things become easier. You can rely on the default iMessage app to sync iPhone messages with Mac and then view messages through your Mac computer. Here’s how to view iPhone messages on Mac:
Step 1: Ensure that you are logged in with the same Apple ID on both your Mac and iPhone. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding and turn on the switch next to your Mac’s name.
Step 2: You will also need to enable messages in iCloud on both your Mac and iPhone. Here’s how to do it:
On your iPhone, go to Settings > iCloud Account > iCloud > Turn on Messages.
On your Mac, go to Preferences > Settings > iMessage and turn on “Messages in iCloud”.
Step 3: Once this is done, you should be able to see the iPhone messages on your Mac.
Please note that you will only be able to view new messages sent and received after this point. If you want to view older iPhone messages on computer, then you can use other methods such as FoneGeek iPhone Data Recovery.
