The all-purpose Visa Prepaid card is a reloadable prepaid card that you can use to withdraw cash, pay bills, or make purchases at participating retailers and service providers, in-person or online. Prepaid cards vs. debit cards:

A prepaid card is not linked to a checking account. Instead, it is pre-loaded with a balance of funds. Then each purchase you make is deducted from that balance.

The Authorization API can be used by any developer in the Sandbox. To use a complete suite of the Visa Payments Processing APIs in the Sandbox, Certification or Production you must be pre-approved by your acquirer and Visa. Getting Started

The Visa Payments Processing APIs enable Visa clients, such as acquirers, acquirer processors, approved merchants and payment facilitators to process card-not-present payments through a direct interface to Visa’s global payment system. The VPP APIs supports a simplified processing model with a lightweight interface and doesn’t require clients to submit clearing batches. The VPP APIs deliver all the information needed to authorize and clear transactions reducing the risk and uncertainty related to delays of batch clearing. The VPP APIs support processing of payment requests for Visa credit, debit and prepaid cards. The verification requests may be used to validate payment account information for Visa and supported non-Visa brands.

How Does It Work?

The VPP APIs enable approved Visa clients to process card or token-based payment requests for Card-Not-Present processing scenarios. Acquirers and other approved clients* connect to Visa over the public Internet.

Step 1: Cardholder places order.

Step 2: Merchant’s site or project sends payment information directly to Visa using the secure VPP API.

Step 3: Visa validates the client, sending the API payment request and routes the payment request to the issuing bank for payment decision.

Step 4: Issuing bank approves or declines the payment request.

Step 5: Visa returns the payment response to the client.

Step 6: The acquiring bank receives the settlement reports and all transaction details from Visa.

* Clients may include acquirer processors, payment facilitators and merchants where sponsored by Acquirer and approved by Visa.

APIs Included

Authorization API

The Authorization API is used to request approval of card or token-based transactions. To enable the clearing and settlement of an approved transaction, a subsequent Capture API request is required.

In addition to Authorization API, VPP also offers the following APIs that are restricted. To access the following Visa Payments Processing APIs in sandbox, certification and production you must be pre-approved by your acquirer and Visa. For further information, contact [email protected] .

Capture API

The Capture API is used to initiate the clearing and settlement of a previously approved authorization request. The Capture API request should be submitted as soon as a client fulfills a customer’s order and must be within 30 days of the original authorization request.

Sale API

The Sale API is used for a purchase when goods or services are delivered immediately to the consumer.

Refund API

The Refund API is used to submit credit vouchers or merchandise returns for card and token based transactions.

Void API

The Void API can be used to reverse an outstanding or previously approved transaction. Voids can be also be submitted in case of time-outs.

Verification API

The Verification API can be used to validate cardholder account information. Account verification is supported for both Visa and non-Visa brands*.

* Non-Visa brands include payment networks supported by Visa Authorization Gateway Service.

American Express – FX International Payments

Available for payments in more than 110 countries and more than 80 currencies, FX International payments through American Express allows merchants to send and receive payments securely. Transaction fees may apply, so ask if any apply to your account. This platform also generates foreign exchange transactions reports. Enrolled users can receive American Express Membership Rewards points.


Payoneer allows users to set up local currency accounts in the U.S., Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, Mexico and the U.K., so clients can pay you using a local bank transfer. Fees vary based on the currency and method of payment.

You can withdraw the funds to your local bank account. Payoneer supports conversions in 150 currencies. You can also pay contractors, suppliers and other businesses from your Payoneer balance.


PayPal is available in many countries, but your options to receive payments will vary depending on your currency. If you buy and sell goods or services, receive payments through QR codes, make any kind of commercial transaction or request money using PayPal, you are charged commercial transaction fees.

These range from 1.90% plus a fixed fee for QR code transactions to 2.90% plus a fixed fee for commercial online transactions and Venmo. There is an additional 1.5% fee for international commercial transactions. You might also get charged an additional fee depending on the currency.


Stripe allows both invoicing and ecommerce payments and is available in more than 135 currencies. The fee for commercial card charges is 2.90% plus 30 cents. There also is a 1% fee for international cards, as well as an additional 1% fee for currency conversion.


Popular among entrepreneurs who do business in many countries, TransferWise allows businesses to send and receive payments around the world, using a multi-currency account that can hold more than 50 currencies. If you do need to apply for a visa, please follow the payment instructions below. Applicants must make a successful payment before they are permitted to schedule their interview appointment. Applicants who do not pay the correct fee for their visa type may be restricted from scheduling an interview.

Once the initial interview is scheduled, applicants are limited to the number of times they can reschedule their appointment. If you miss your scheduled appointment time, you may be required to pay the MRV fee again in order to schedule another interview. Depending on your citizenship and the type of visa you are applying for, you may also have to pay a visa issuance or “reciprocity” fee. This fee is not an MRV Fee and cannot be used to schedule an appointment. Please make sure that you pay the reciprocity fee in advance only if you are renewing your previous and submitting your application through interview-waiver channel. If you are scheduling your interview appointment, do not pay the reciprocity fee in advance; the fee should be paid at the time of your interview at the Consular Section of U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.

If you are paying for a group of applicants visit the group appointment page.

Step 1

Log-in to our online applicant system and create a profile. This will ensure the proper amount is paid and activated in timely manner. Values are shown in U.S. Dollars (USD); however the Fee payable is in Pakistani rupee (PKR). This page has more information about the different visa application fees.

Step 2

Click on Schedule My Appointment option on the left-hand side of your screen. Complete steps for Visa Type, Post, Visa Category and Visa Class.

Step 3

Once you are on the Payment screen, click on Payment Options. Review the Cash at Bank section for further details.

The PKR amounts are based on the consular currency exchange rate determined by the U.S. Department of State. Applicants who do not pay the correct fee for their visa type may be restricted from scheduling an interview.
Step 4

Pay the visa fee. When you pay the visa fee, you acknowledge that this is a non-refundable visa application processing fee required as a prerequisite to the processing of an application. It does not indicate the existence of a contract with the applicant, nor does it guarantee a successful application. There is no refund possible regardless of the outcome of this application.

Step 5

Save the bank receipt for your records. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will need the receipt number on the bank receipt to schedule your visa appointment.

Step 6

Once you pay your visa fee, you can schedule your interview after 11:00am the next business day. Log-in to your profile and complete the Schedule Your Appointment steps with your receipt number.

Fee Payment Options

Cash at Allied Bank

You can pay your nonimmigrant visa (NIV) application fee in cash at any Allied Bank branch. Cheques are not accepted. You must bring your passport for identification purposes to make your payment.

  1. Before going to the bank you must print and carry the applicable U.S. visa deposit slips (available after logging into your profile). Do not print multiple copies of the same deposit slip. If you print a deposit slip in advance of the day in which you plan to make your payment, take note of the expiration date on the deposit slip. If the expiration date passes prior to using the slip to make your payment, simply return to the website and click the appropriate link to generate a new deposit slip. Allied Bank will NOT accept payments based on expired deposit slips.
  2. Take the deposit slip to the bank when you pay your fee. Cheques are not accepted. You must bring your passport for identification purposes to make your payment.
  3. Be sure that you pay the exact amount indicated on the deposit slip. After receiving your payment, the cashier will give you a receipt. Save the bank receipt for your records. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will need the receipt number on the bank receipt to schedule your visa appointment.

Whether you schedule your appointment online or contact our call center, you will need the receipt number printed on your bank receipt. See the example below circled in red.

Please confirm that above fields “CGI Reference number, Expiration date, Number of Applicants & AMOUNT in PKR” are computer generated only. In case these fields are hand written or empty, please DO NOT accept the payment.
